Pauline Bétin has carved out her own niche on the contemporary art scene thanks to an unusual process, in which she combines pâte de verre, screen printing, decals and enamelled engraving. The notion of landscape sits at the heart of her thinking. After having explored the subject of allotments and then utopian gardens, she is now interested in places of memory, and more specifically Second World War bunkers. Aside from her interest in the natural sites into which they fit, she particularly wants to participate in the duty of remembering and urging visitors to think about our recent past.
